Kids will experience LOTS of different ways to move their bodies in a fun & playful way while working on age appropriate movement skills Student Fitness Experts, a leader in Whole Child Fitness will be leading a mini series of playful fitness and movement class. Kids will explore how to move their bodies, practice problem solving skills and create playful movement games. Kids will practice fundamental movement skills such as : Kicking - throwing - Jumping - Running - Lifting - Hopping - Balancing & more! Karen is certified and trained in prenatal yoga, postpartum fitness recovery, repairing diastasis recti, and much more!   You will learn the best ways to care for your changing body and develop a routine that you can do on your own, in whichever place you love to workout. Regardless of your fitness level, you will leave this workshop with the tools, exercises, knowledge and confidence needed to ensure a safe and fit pregnancy as well as postpartum recovery. The workshop will blend fitness, strength training and yoga, You will learn how to effectively engage and activate your Pelvic-Core muscles during all movement, maximizing a fit pregnancy and safe and effective recovery. You will also learn breathing techniques to help with pregnancy, labor and recovery while connecting with your baby (inside or outside your tummy!). Karen became a first time mom at the age of 39 and is now pregnant with her second son (due November 2018). Having had an unexpected C-section and some diastasis, Karen became very interested in pre/post natal fitness. Through her own experiences and education she has worked with many moms to help them maintain and regain their own fitness and strength. Karen is a lifelong fitness enthusiast who has overcome several challenges and obstacles along the way. Karen developed Asthma as a young kid and began swimming to help with lung development. At the age of 14 she was unable to complete the 1 mile requirement for PE class she began training at the local JCC where she discovered the weight room. This is where everything really began to change. Karen began lifting weights at the age of 15 and has not stopped since. In 2006 Karen began doing century & double metric bike rides but was sidelined due to a near fatal bicycle accident. Having made a full recovery, Karen learned a lot through her own rehab and recovery which she has brought to her clients and students. Karen went on to complete several marathons, century & double metric bike rides and a triathlon. Karen is originally from NJ and began her fitness career in Los Angeles where she lived for almost 19 years. Aside for being a certified fitness professional Karen also holds her MBA from the University of Southern California. Karen currently resides in Durham, NC with her husband, 16 month old son and is expecting her second son in November 2018.
