A day of In-person sitting meditation, teaching, and discussion on the theme of bringing benefit to all beings.
In Buddhism, the four unlimited mental attitudes are loving kindness, compassion, sympathetic joy and equanimity. These attiudes are unlimited because the benefits thay bring to self and other can't be quantified; they are immeasurable. In this day of in-person sitting meditation practice, we will focus on these four immeasurables that teach all sentient beings and bring us contentment. This retreat will be led by Valley Streams practice leader So On Jim Hare. The day will include a morning Dharma talk and afternoon discussion. We will also broadcast the day on Zoom for people who aren't ready to return to in-person sitting.
Valley Streams Zen Sangha, is an open Zen community, dedicated to the study of Buddha’s teaching and the practice of meditation. We invite experienced Zen students and newcomers to join our weekly meetings and first Saturday of the month retreats.
