Barn / Facility Manager (manage/maintain and work at a horse facility) – live on property Scottsdale, AZ (Rio Verde Area) We are looking for a live-in couple (or a single person who can do it all) with extensive horse experience, management skills, handyman and groundskeeping skills. Must have good communication and people skills. (One of you will need to be an experienced rider and horseman). You will be required to handle ALL duties listed below for maintaining the upkeep of a beautiful 10 acres horse facility and work along with the owner to ensure it is being managed to the owner’s expectations. The position includes year-round living in a beautiful 3 bedroom 2 bath home (on-site), utilities included: electricity, water and garbage). Need a valid driver’s license. Equipment will be provided for horse transport and other work-related tasks when necessary. This individual will ensure that all horses and their owners (Clients) receive the highest level of daily, individualized care and attention while overseeing barn staff and ensuring cleanliness, organization and maintenance of this beautiful facility and its equine residents. You must have at least 5 years of experience handling a wide range of horses. Must have organizational abilities to oversee the daily requirements and schedule workflow of stalls, turnouts and daily grooming of arena. You will be responsible for scheduling and maintaining the proper levels of ranch supplies, deliveries and pickups including hay, feed, shavings, manure removal etc. You will be allowed to have one horse on property. The supplied house is for you and a significant other only. No other tenants or extended family members are allowed to live on the premises. . DUTIES • Care of horses: feeding, grooming, exercising, blanketing, • Cleaning maintaining paddocks and stalls. Replace shavings in stalls • Must be able to manage employees and schedules • General handyman and building tasks for needed repairs including plumbing, carpentry, and basic electrical. • Operate and maintain farm machinery. • Experience driving truck and gooseneck trailer hauling horses • Experience to safely operate dump and flatbed trailers • Experience with operating tractors, water truck, ATV, dragging (grooming) and watering arena • Work evenings, weekends, and holiday work hours as required • Care of other property animals (dogs) when owners are out of town. • Building and repairing of fences. • General cleaning of the buildings and barn facilities on property. • Strong people and communication skills. • Maintaining landscaping around the entire property including the owners house, barns, arena and Managers home. • Meeting with farrier, vet and other professionals. • Other duties as assigned by owners. • Must be able to lift 50lbs to 100lbs, work in all weather conditions including AZ summers. • This is a drug free/ smoke free property REQUIREMENTS: • Valid Driver’s License • References • Background check This is a family owned and operated facility.
