Muse & Company is seeking a general shop laborer. The successful candidate will be a responsible and organized self-starter. You must be detail oriented, and always striving for the highest quality of work through accuracy and efficiency. The position is temporary (estimated at 6 months), but may become a permanent, full-time position with benefits depending on need. You must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record, although no car is required. You’ll be working in our fabrication workshop in Richmond, CA. Covid-19 safety protocols are in place and enforced. Requirements: Errands and deliveries: *Must have valid license and clean record; you will be driving a lot *Must be comfortable driving a pickup truck, 14ft box truck, 16ft flatbed, Sprinter van, and forklift *Must be comfortable visiting stores in person *Must be able to lift and move delicate, costly items carefully, without damage, and be able to secure items properly in the truck Cleaning and maintenance: *Will be responsible for cleaning the shop, including bathrooms and break area, vacuuming tool and work areas, organizing tool rooms, doing dump runs, keeping vehicles clean, doing yard work in the outdoor areas *Basic understanding of plumbing and electrical is a plus but not required *Basic carpentry skills: *Must be able to safely use a table saw and chop saw (we can teach these skills). *Basic knowledge of construction is a plus since you will be shopping at hardware stores and will need to understand hardware, material, and paint basics *Must be able to sand or grind wood and metal or fabricate small items for the shop (with instruction) *You must be available to work shop hours: Monday through Friday, 7am - 3pm *Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs *Must be able to be on your feet for up to 9 hours each day Benefits & Details: Compensation is $20-$23/hr., DOE.
