Description

Come gather with us to practice the Spiritual Discipline of Meditating on GOD's Word. Many people associate the word, Meditation, with transcendental meditation, a technique that is intended to achieve a state of inner peace. Others think of meditation as “mindfulness”—a heightened awareness of one’s own thoughts. Biblical meditation is not simply about focusing upon ourselves, emptying our minds, or trying to achieve a state of calmness. Biblical meditation is pondering the words of Scripture with a receptive heart, trusting the Holy Spirit to work in you through those words. With all the options around us, I wanted to be sure that the Christian Believer had a place to learn and practice this spiritual discipline from a Biblical perspective. I will be offering 5 weeks for us to gather together with other believers to practice Biblical Meditation. We will be meeting in the west lawn of the James Couzens Memorial Park in Bath, MI. Bring lawn chairs, blankets, or mats to sit on. It is important to posture yourself in such a way as to be able to focus totally on your time with GOD and HIS Word. Also, since this will be outside, please remember that there may be bugs, so please come prepared. I will be providing a card with the verse of the week for each participant. I would encourage you to bring your Bible as well. There is no charge for this, but a donation of $5-$10 to cover the cost of the park and the materials provided would be helpful. Classes start at 7 p.m. June 16, 2021, and run every Wednesday at 7 p.m. through July 14, 2021. The township requests that we follow the current COVID-19 protocol. We do not need to wear masks while we are in the park, but please do whatever makes you the most comfortable. We will have a sign in sheet as well as be doing a couple of question COVID-19 screening before we start.
