Description
Are you a self-professed neat freak who’s not afraid to roll up your
sleeves and get a little dirty? If so, you might be the Humane Society of Harford County’s next
Animal Care Assistant. Your primary responsibilities will include
cleaning and sanitizing the animals’ living spaces; providing food,
water and bedding; doing laundry; and working closely with other team
members to ensure the animals receive top-notch care.
While this position is very physically demanding, it’s also vitally
important to the animals’ health and well-being. Candidates must have
animal care experience, either personal or professional (it’s a bonus if
you have experience with farm animals or exotic pets!), be able to lift
up to 50 lbs., work indoors and out in all weather conditions, and
perform repetitive functions such as bending, kneeling, lifting and
reaching. On-the-job training and continuing education opportunities
available. If you’re ready to make a difference in the lives of our
shelter pets, please fill out an application for employment here. Please, no phone calls, email inquiries, or walk ins.
