GREENWICH, CT —A man and woman, both 32, were arrested on Monday night after the car they were driving in crashed and rolled over in the Byram section of Greenwich. Alexander Pirolozzi, of Stamford, was driving in the area of 60 Mead Ave. around 7:30 p.m. on Monday when he lost control of his car and rolled it over. Police said that after they arrived on scene, they were approached by a witness who said that Pirolozzi tried to conceal something in the bushes of a neighboring residence. Upon inspection, officers found a plastic baggie containing 83 Alprazolam pills, commonly known as Xanax. Police said that after misleading officers during the course of the investigation, Pirolozzi "eventually admitted that the pills were his." Pirolozzi was arrested and charged with failure to drive in a proper lane, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance, and interfering with officers/resisting. He was released on a Promise to Appear, and has an assigned court date of June 28 at Stamford Superior Court. The passenger in the car, Jennifer Gillen of Harrison, N.Y., was arrested and charged with four counts of possession of a controlled substance and illegal possession. Several medication bottles were found on the ground in the vicinity of the crashed vehicle, and Gillen told officers they belonged to her and that she had a prescription for them. But while inspecting the bottles, police said they noticed "several narcotics of different size and shape." The pills within the bottles were Diazepam and Alprazolam, which are both controlled substances, and Oxycodone, a narcotic. While in custody, a search of Gillen's property revealed more narcotics in a ziploc bag, a small bottle containing a clear liquid, and another glass bottle containing a syrup-like liquid, police said. The liquid in both bottles tested positive for the presence of THC. Gillen was released on a Promise To Appear. She was given a court date of June 28 in Stamford.
