Temps: High of 102° & low of 67° Top 5 Stories in Sacramento The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning starting at 2 p.m. today. You can cool off in 2 cooling centers in the City of Sacramento — one at the Hagginwood Community Center at 3271 Marysville Boulevard, and another at the Hart Senior Center along 27th Street. (CBS Sacramento)Please be patient as restaurants reopen in Sacramento. Area restaurant owners are feeling the squeeze from staffing shortages and uncertain demand as California opens up. It could be a bumpy ride for a while. (KCRA3)Retired SMF airport director still wants the airport to take PRIDE in its cleanliness. The airport employs PRIDE Industries to clean the space. PRIDE is a non-profit company that employs people with disabilities. The airport was contemplating going with a less expensive, for-profit company. Retired airport director Hardy Acree jumped in to help. (CBS Sacramento)This was not your usual "cat in a tree" call from Citrus Heights. The report was for a mountain lion in a tree! A spokesman for Fish and Wildlife said it was likely a young lion who had lost its mother and was trying to find its way. (Daily Sacramento News)SMF was a mess again on Tuesday as Southwest Airlines delayed and canceled flights due to system issues for the second day in a row. It was bad timing considering airport traffic is just beginning to return to pre-COVID levels. (KCRA3) Wednesday's Events Join the WOW (Women on Wheels) gals for a morning ride along the American River Bike Trail. Vaccinated riders only. (8 am)Don't you love those people who hand out samples at Costco? Want to be one? They're having a hiring event for a part time position, starting immediately. (11 am)Wednesdays at Winn famer's market is always a hit! I went last week and got some baba ganouj that was to die for! Bring a blanket or sit on the chairs in the cute vignettes they provide and watch the world go by - with their free samples of healthy ice cream! (3 pm)The Cappuccino Cruisers are back! They'll be showing off their rides at That Dam Place in Folsom. Join them if you have a pre-1979 beauty to show off, or just go and look at all the sweet machinery. (4:30 pm)Get the party started with Karaoke Joe at the Hacienda Del Rio in Old Folsom. Join the fun in the parking lot and try your voice at some of your old favorites. (6 pm) Sacramento Notebook If you want to party like you've never partied before... try a stargazing party! You'll need to drive down to Stockton this Saturday night to do it, but it looks like it would be well worth it to get a look at galaxies you've never seen before with this group of hard core enthusiasts. No more masks for Mickey! If you're headed to Disneyland to celebrate the state reopening, you can leave your mask at home if you are fully vaccinated. That's the good news. The bad news is that there are no more capacity restrictions, so lines will return to normal. Tickets to see Henry Cho at the Crest Theater go on sale today.
