PASADENA, CA — An argument over a parking spot outside The Home Depot in Pasadena turned violent Sunday when police say a 30-year-old man beat a person twice his age. Nicholas Gomez, of Pasadena, is accused of attacking a man in his 60s after getting into an argument sometime before 5 p.m. in the parking lot of The Home Depot at 2881 E. Walnut St. Gomez was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and is currently being held in lieu of $30,000 bail. Charges have not yet been filed against him. Witnesses told Pasadena police a man had punched the 60-year-old San Gabriel man in the face during the argument. The man fell down to the ground and the attacker continued to kick and punch him, authorities said. The 60-year-old man was hospitalized for several injuries he sustained in the assault, including a broken ankle, according to Pasadena Now. The attacker left the parking lot in his vehicle but witnesses were able to provide police with the license plate number. Police were able to track the vehicle to the 1700 block of North Holliston Avenue where Gomez was identified as the attacker and arrested, the magazine reported.
