Description
BURNSVILLE, MN — Burnsville property owners could soon have a say in where some of their tax dollars go, The Star Tribune reported.
If approved by city council, Burnsville would be the first known city in the U.S. to implement this type of participatory budgeting, the publication reported. Property owners would be able to choose which city services to send some of their taxes to, the publication reported.
The idea was first proposed in February by City Council Member Cara Schulz and will be further discussed at Tuesday's meeting, the publication reported.
