Description
BURNSVILLE, MN — Grazing goats arrived June 5 at Rudy Kraemer Nature Preserve, the city of Burnsville said.
The city said it is testing prescribed grazing with goats as a method to control invasive species such as Buckthorn, as well as other unwanted vegetation. After this week, the goats will move to another site in Burnsville, the city said.
The goats are fenced near the southwest corner of the main preserve's parking area, the city said.
The goats first arrived in Burnsville in 2019 as part of a pilot project to test grazing for habitat management, the city said.
