JOB SUMMARY: The Lead Maintenance Mechanic ensures that all mechanical components of the facility are operating correctly. Ensures that employees and visitors have an attractive, safe living and work environment. The Lead Maintenance Mechanic will assume the supervision of the department staff in the absence of the Maintenance Manager. Some of the responsibilities include: Does preventive maintenance on water heaters and steam boiler, Operates welding equipment, painting/replacing cove base, changing filters on air conditioning units, rodding out toilets and drains, light construction work. All other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager. • 2 years training or experience • Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems • Experience using hand and electrical tools • Working on ladders and heights • Use a computer for work orders and reply to emails • Work in inclement weather such as wind, cold, rain, and heat.
