Description
Re-posting this ad after taking a break during the pandemic. Boston area band looking to add a keyboard player (piano, organ) and/or multi-instrumentalist (fiddle, lap steel, mandolin, harmonica, pedal steel, dobro, and/or horns would all be welcome). If you can also sing harmonies, that would be great. Male, female, whatever...all are welcome. We play a mix of originals and covers. Our original material is generally in the roots-rock vein (think a mix of Petty, early Wilco, Stones, Jason Isbell, John Hiatt, Jayhawks, etc., etc.) but with a few curveballs thrown in, while our covers range from less obvious 60’s British invasion nuggets to 70’s pub rock, plus some country-rock and and classic rock. We also dig surf and New Orleans stuff. Our songwriter sings lead on his original songs, but 3 of us currently split lead vocal duties on the cover songs. Would love to add keyboards and/or other instruments into the mix on both the originals and covers. Would also LOVE to add another harmony vocal (currently, just the bass player sings harmonies). While this is a fairly new project, we’re all experienced players and performers with a fair amount of gigs and recording under our belts. We just released our debut EP of original material and we're hoping to start gigging again soon. We'd love to have a 5th member on board as soon as possible to help us flesh out the arrangements and beef up our sound. We practice once a week in Newton, with a full PA and multi-track recording capability, in a groovy rehearsal and recording space at one of the band member’s house. Feel free to tell us about yourself and what you’re looking for; we’ll provide you with a link to recordings of our original songs as well as a list of some of our current covers. You should have gigging experience, pro equipment and reliable transportation. One last comment - this is not a money-making opportunity. If you're looking for a busy GB band to make money, this is NOT that kind of band. We're in it to have fun and make good music together. Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks in advance.
