I think you are mistaken about the insurrectionists.
Most that I have seen interviewed say that the regret participating and realized after that they made a mistake.
Many of them don’t even support Trump anymore. Trump has definitely lost support because of and since the insurrection. There are fert Trump supporters now than any time during is presidency.
Insurrectionist also realize now that invading the capitol was anti patriotic.
Many of the people who invaded this capitol were unaware that it was even a crime to enter. Some of this ignorant fools thought it was no different than entering a public library.
