Spreading the Misery

Description

Peru recently elected to be President Pedro Castillo a member of the far left wing Peru-Libre Party that bases its' philosophy on Marxist-Leninist doctrine. Already the Sol, Peru's currency is rapidly becoming worthless, foreign businesses are closing up and moving out of the country and they are shutting down any expansion and investment plans. Why? Castillo ran on the platform that his administration will nationalize all business and give them to "the people." "The people" being him and his family and corrupt politicians. Same old play book. Peru is rich in minerals and natural resources. Past moderate governments have been encouraging business, both foreign and domestic to bring a rise in wealth and living standards in Peru and it has been working. Castillo's rhetoric to tax the rich and businesses out of existence or just plain seize businesses has already caused economic chaos in Peru. Castillo back tracked on his election promises a few days ago amid the chaos but just today announced he may only nationalize the mining and energy production sectors. Right. His goal? To be more like Cuba and Venezuela. Of course the election results are being called into question because of cheating and ballot stuffing. How much misery and hardship is this new future dictator going to cause? The riots, food shortages, medicine shortages, military/civilian clashes, power outages, etc. Expect to see Peruvians added to the long list of immigrants seeking political protection in the U.S. and start flooding our border too.
