RACE Cancer Foundation - Race Crew RACE Cancer Foundation fights cancer through action and prevention. We produce events to promote health and wellness in the community, reducing the risk of cancer while raising funds and awareness for organizations dedicated to fighting cancer. Our programs create opportunities to reduce and detect cancer through education, prevention, and screening measures. Our Sunscreen Squad fights skin cancer by bringing free sunscreen dispensers to outdoor events across New England. Based in Boston, RACE is a Massachusetts non-profit organization and federally recognized as 501(c)(3) tax exempt public charity. Check us out at, and We are seeking a few more fun, friendly, energetic people to join our Race Crew. As a member of our Race Crew, you will work with (and occasionally supervise) volunteers to ensure that our running events are run smoothly, safely and professionally. Our small team and start-up environment provides a unique opportunity to participate in other aspects of RACE Cancer Foundation's non-profit operations, if you so desire. You will also work alongside the folks at RaceMenu, who build software and technology solutions for event organizers nationwide. Responsibilities Responsibilities of our Race Crew include: Equipment/Logistics - assist with load-in and load-out of event equipment and supplies; involves lifting and driving rental trucks so you'll need a valid license and clean driving record. Registration - assist with event registration and check-in, giving out race numbers and merchandise Course - place traffic cones and signage; direct runners along the course Water Stations - setup water stops and hand out cups of water to event participants Awards/Party - organize and distribute awards; help with post-race party Clean-up - collect trash & recyclables, load truck and help us leave the venue cleaner than we found it. Requirements Required Skills and Abilities: Availability on these dates is a must: Thursday evenings June 17, July 8, August 5, August 19, Sep 2, Sep 16 Fun, outgoing, and energetic personality "Can do" attitude and ability to work independently Willingness to work outdoors, rain or shine Experience as a participant and/or volunteer at running events a big plus!
