A local underground utility construction company called Communication Construction and Engineering is hiring for a Fiber Optic Apprentice.
As a Fiber Apprentice you will learn and complete:
-Proper splicing procedure and techniques
-Proper testing procedure and techniques, including OTDR
-Proper cable installation, pulling, and labeling
-How to fan out fibers
-Breaking into a fiber for midspan splices
-Network troubleshooting and repair
-How to read and translate plan sets and splice diagrams into production
-Placing fiber optic cable
-Termination, splicing and testing fiber optic cable
As a Fiber Apprentice you are responsible for:
-Completing the work you are assigned
-Maintaining Jobsite Safety along with safety of nearby people
-Crew tasks such as vehicle inventory, maintenance, and cleanliness
-Maintaining a drivers license and a clean driving record with no DUIs in the last 5 years
-Working with clients, the public, and any other person nearby
As a Fiber Apprentice you are a key part of your crew. Because of this you will be:
