A green builder and real estate development firm based in Austin, Texas, focusing on new construction of energy-efficient, single-family and small multi-family homes. The Construction Foreman position will work in the field, under the supervision of a Construction Superintendent, and will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day construction activities across multiple new home construction sites. Job Summary: They will be responsible for coordinating subcontractors, materials, and inspections in line with the construction schedule, and will be responsible for performing quality control reviews of all subcontractors’ work. - The Foreman will use a mobile computer or tablet to log daily jobsite activity, update project schedules, upload photos, review construction and design plans, and communicate electronically with the rest of the team - They will occasionally need to perform various construction tasks, such as carpentry, drywall repair, plumbing and electrical fixture installations, paint touch-up, and other punch-out items. - The primary goal of this position is to help bring projects to completion as quickly and efficiently as possible and to the highest quality standards. - The ideal candidate will be hard-working, highly dependable, extremely detail-oriented, able to work independently/alone as necessary, while also able to follow instructions very well, and able to handle stressful situations with a calm demeanor. Qualifications: - Must have at least 5 years of residential construction experience, and 2 years of management experience - Must be able to read and understand Construction Drawings / Architectural and Engineering Plans - Must have basic familiarity with the construction trades, including: - Carpentry / Framing - Concrete / Foundations - Plumbing - Electrical - HVAC - Drywall - Painting - Tile / Masonry - Sitework & Landscaping - Must be computer literate and comfortable using email, spreadsheets, and mobile applications - Must be able to work on your feet, 8-10 hours a day, outdoors - Must be able to lift 50-60 lbs - Must have a Driver’s License and experience driving a pick-up truck with a trailer - Must have a positive attitude and a willingness to continually learn and grow -Ability to speak Spanish is a STRONG PLUS! -Having your own tools is a STRONG PLUS! Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm Compensation: $25-30 per hour, depending on experience. Overtime available.
