I am a photographer. My name is Alexa M. and I live and work in New York City. I am involved in a project to create and display respectful, truthful photographic portraits of men and women approximately 75 years of age and older who endured the Covid-19 pandemic in New Yok City. My subjects are from all walks of life residing in The Bronx, Queens, Manhattan and Brooklyn. Let me know you would like to participate. I will need a few items: • No more than 30 minutes at a mutually convenient date and time. I will come to you. • Your answers to a brief set of questions – who you are, where you're from and what the past 18 months have been like for you. • A signed release allowing me to use your image and your story in my work. Information on this project – My portraits of elder New Yorkers, some 100 of them, will be displayed in large format (3-feet by 4.5-feet) and arrayed in a public space (as yet to be determined) in the City in the Fall of this year. This project is approved and sanctioned by the Inside Out Project, a not-for-profit organization that exists to help artists tell the stories of everyday people in their natural surroundings. In my sessions, I practice safe distancing, wear a N91 mask and sanitize my hands often.
