Additional compensation: 2ND SHIFT PREMIUM $1.00/HR 3RD SHIFT PREMIUM $1.50/HR Position Summary: Under direct supervision, cleans and prepares parts for spraying. Position Responsibilities: • Hangs parts and ensures that no defective part goes on the line • Unhang parts, inspect them for good quality and then packages parts per supervisor’s instructions • Cleans and de-greases parts • Masks parts and makes sure that correct masking material is being used for the job (i.e. tape, dots, screws, plugs, etc.,) Also masks first article for QC approval before proceeding with the entire lot on new jobs • Performs in process inspection to ensure that parts are good before masking (Inspects parts for scratches, dents, rust, etc) • Blow off parts with air nozzle • Sprays liquid and/or powder coating on parts using a hand-held spray gun • Sands parts using various sanding materials • Verifies counts on jobs in process and reports all shortages or overages • Changes over tooling as needed and prepares tooling for hanging parts (i.e., make hooks needed for the next job) • Employee may be required to lift parts ranging from 3lbs to 50lbs • Sandblasts parts with pressure pot, hose, and nozzle in an enclosed cabinet using media called for in the work order • Inspects parts for visible damages and / or masking errors prior to starting sandblasting process • Removes sand from parts with air hose prior to moving parts to the next operation • Adheres to safety rules and procedures
