Building Superintendent Building superintendent needed for apartment buildings in Jersey City. Salary plus apartment in building is given as compensation for an individual or couple to fulfill the duties of a live-in Building Superintendent. (Heat & hot water included, but cooking gas and electric utilities are not included.) Employee will be responsible for own tools and transportation. Superintendent's apartment is conditioned upon employment as superintendent. If for any reason employment is terminated, the apartment must be vacated. Non-reimbursed employment requirements: A. At all times maintain a working cellular phone B. Automobile C. Tools Work Requirements: 1. Maintaining the premises in a clean, safe, and orderly fashion. This includes all common areas, sidewalks, alley, garbage area, roof landing, and basement (includes debris, leaves, grass cutting, garbage, snow, ice, etc.). 2. Building must be swept / vacuumed and mopped daily and as deemed necessary. 3. Taking out garbage and recycling per week as needed. 4. Make all necessary maintenance and repairs on the premises (work requests). 5. Abate any and all violations, which are cited by the city, state, or any other enforcing agency. 6. Painting and the complete repair of any vacant units. 7. The showing and renting of vacant units. 8. Making any emergency repairs to the premises. 9. Any and all other responsibilities that is associated with the maintaining of an apartment building.
