Central Region finals of the “Power of The Palate,” National Cocktail Competition “In the cocktail bar industry, unfortunately, the African American community is not very well represented at all. It is just not a diverse group, so anything that lends diversity to bartending is a good thing.” -Greg Boehm In partnership with Black Restaurant Week and Maker’s Mark, Nostalgia is excited to host the Central Region finals of “Power of The Palate,” a national Black Bartender Cocktail Competition. Finalists from Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus and Indianapolis will compete at Nostalgia for the Grand Prize of $5,000. You're invited to come watch the live competition while enjoying live music and cocktails featuring recipes created by Tom Bullock, a prominent pre-Prohibition era bartender and the first African-American to publish a cocktail book (The Ideal Bartender).
