Description
ACEs teaches you about the role that trauma plays in your life and how resilience can keep you going. Why should I take this class? The Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Study exposed one of the most important public health crises of our time, perhaps of all time. ACEs affect people from birth through their lifespan. Knowledge from the ACE Study has caused a paradigm shift in our understanding of the origins of physical, social, mental, and societal health and well-being. During this 6-hour class, you will learn: • About ACEs and toxic stress. • How trauma impacts the brain; both physically and psychologically. • The role of ACEs in causing disease, learning disabilities, and early death. • The importance of resilience and competent relationships If you would like more information or resources on ACEs, go to bit.ly/ESCSB-ACEs. This Google Drive has handouts, video links, and resources to learn more about ACEs and the impacts of trauma.
