Description

Good Harbor Beach cleanup (hosted by Surfrider Foundation MA Chapter, Surfari Surf Shop, and Humans For Oceans) “The Beach Belongs to Everyone.” That is the theme of this year's #InternationalSurfingDay. For decades, the Surfrider Foundation MA Chapter has championed to keep our beaches accessible and welcoming for all people to enjoy—regardless of race, socioeconomic background, ability or gender identity. This International Surfing Day, we are celebrating the joy and excitement that the beach brings to all of us. Join us with our friends at Surfari Surf Shop and Humans For Oceans on Saturday, June 19th for a cleanup at Good Harbor Beach in Gloucester, MA. If you are a surfer, you are welcome to join in for a paddle out after the cleanup! Location: From the parking lot, take the main path to the beach directly in front of the visitor center. Turn left and look for our blue tent! All participants should preregister for this cleanup. Capacity is limited, so save your spot today! We will still be following several protocols as an extra precaution: All participants will be required to wear a face covering during the beach cleanup and guidance is in place to help maintain 6 ft physical distancing from anyone outside your household. Please carefully consider the risks of attending. Stay home if you or someone you are in close contact with is in a high-risk group, has recently had any symptoms, or suspects recently being exposed. There are many ways to protect the ocean from home, so please feel free to reach out if you’d like any ideas! Please bring your own work gloves and face covering for this cleanup. We’ll still provide sanitized buckets and tools for trash collection, as well as gear for data collection and plenty of hand sanitizer!Thank you for your help and cooperation in protecting and enjoying the ocean!
