Are you ready to reduce your stress and practice mindfulness while having fun and being creative? If so, Improv 2 Reduce Stress is for you!
Gina Johnson, LCSW, and Lindsay Haitz, LPC, have developed Improv 2 Reduce Stress to help individuals develop and train stress reduction skills through experiential learning/ improv games.
Since we announced this class, we have been getting 📧📧📧 questions like “what is improv all about?” 🎁🤷🏻♀️and “how can it help me reduce my stress?”⁉️🙋🏾♀️
Here is an overview of the topics we plan to address through Improv to help YOU reduce your stress this summer:
Week 1. Emotions & Self-RegulationWeek 2. True vs. False SelfWeek 3. Self-TalkWeek 4. Self DiscoveryImprov 2 Reduce Stress is a 4 week series for $80 and classes build on each other. This class is in-person and individuals will be social distanced and wearing masks.
The dates are june 7, 14, 21 & 28 from 5:30-7:00pm!
We’d also like to explain what improv is NOT: It is not…
• Stand-up comedy😜🎙
• Acting class 🎬🕴🏽
• Trying to be funny 🤦🏽💃🏻
• Monologues🎤🕺🏼
• A place where your performance will be evaluated 🤔📋💯
Instead, improv IS a place to:
• engage in spontaneous dialogue (with a partner or small group) 👥 🤝
• practice thinking 🧠 on your 👣- “mistakes” are encouraged 🤗
• play in a psychologically🌞& emotionally🤍safe environment
• practice being present & in the moment 🧘🏽♂️🕯
• learn about yourself 💎👩🏻🏫💡
• create stories with others 👨🏾🎨👽🤹🏼♀️
• let loose, laugh and play 🤾🏻♂️▶️🎲
In short, Improv is a practice that helps you be a better YOU- friend 🤗, parent 👶🏾👩👧, partner, sibling💁🏼♀️💁🏼, employee🙋🏾♀️, manager🧑🏿💻👩🏻💻….human 🤖🌎
