Here we met up with Tony at the Galante Vineyards tasting room and begin our adventure! Unbeknownst to us, The Galante family has a long history in Carmel. It was around 1900 that Jack Galante's Great Grandfather, J. Frank Devendorf, discovered the white sands of Carmel Beach. With a dream in mind, he and his partner Frank Powers created the town of Carmel. Jack honors this family legacy and continues to make history in Carmel as his Wine Tasting Room and now at YOSEMITE WINE TAILS. In 1994, Jack Galante decided to build a winery and use his grapes to produce ultra-premium estate bottled wines. Galante Vineyards has always had a very simple philosophy: grow the finest grapes and let the fruit express itself in the wine. Today Galante is recognized as one of the premier wine producers in Monterey County and all of California. The Galante Vineyards philosophy is simple: grow the finest grapes possible and let the fruit express itself in the wine. Since all of the grapes are estate grown on the Galante vineyards in Carmel Valley, each bottle of wine produced embodies the characteristics of its unique region, exhibiting the natural flavors that are born from the land the Galante family loves. Well known for Cabernet Sauvignon, Galante Vineyards also craft limited amounts of estate grown Malbec, Petite Sirah, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier and several other blends. Their wine label is special too, and reflects family roots as cattle ranchers. The Galante signature label is a photograph of real leather, hand-tooled by a California saddle maker. The 3-Liter bottles are adorned with real hand-tooled leather labels and sterling silver conchos!
