Description

Participants will learn how to use effective behavior management strategies when working with toddlers. How do you get around the good old "No!" statement from a child? Do you find yourself trapped in power struggles? Do you find that you have a difficult time following through with transitions and daily routines? It could be the way you're posing the question. We're going to work on positive language techniques instead of questioning children, learn how to give clear statements that encourage autonomy, and provide choices when appropriate. The purpose of the Educare program is to improve the quality of child care and early learning programs. Educare provides resources, technical assistance, and training opportunities to child care providers who care for children receiving Child Care Subsidy, with an emphasis on family home providers. Resources and trainings are free. Educare funding is provided by the Missouri Department of Social Services, Children's Division, Early Childhood Section. The Mid-America Regional Council administors the Educare program in Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte and Ray counties in partnership with the Local Investment Commission, The Family Conservancy, MCC-Penn Valley and Start at Zero.
