GENERAL SUMMARY Monday-Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a wide variety of maintenance duties including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, heating, flooring, drywall, painting, janitorial, preventative, emergency, and other duties, as assigned. Ideal applicants will have previous general maintenance experience, must have tools, Must be able to lift 60 pounds from a standing position, must be energetic, must have strong attention to detail, and excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Performs corrective and preventive maintenance to building systems, common areas, apartments, and equipment, according to the maintenance schedule and as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor Assists with apartment unit turn-overs, work orders, and janitorial duties Reports any safety issues or property maintenance concerns to the Maintenance Supervisor Conducts all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, state and federal laws; e.g. OSHA, ADA, Fair Housing, etc. Maintains neat, clean and organized maintenance shop and storage areas Notifies Maintenance Supervisor when supplies need to be ordered Other duties, responsibilities and special projects as assigned ABILITIES Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety procedures of the maintenance trades. Ability to work independently on tasks assigned. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, procedure manuals.. Ability to verbally communicate effectively with fellow employees, and residents. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, and tenants. Ability to work in a fast paced environment. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of two years of experience in apartments maintenance Must have Ca. Driver's License and reliable transportation. Maintains knowledge of EPA and OSHA laws and regulations governing proper storage and management of hazardous materials. Hourly wage depends on experience and skill level.
