Description
AMITYVILLE, NY —Closed for a year, the detoxification program at South Oaks Hospital in Amityville will reopen later this month.
The substance abuse treatment center, closed for the pandemic, will open on June 27.
The detox program has constant nursing care, allowing patients to safely navigate alcohol or drug withdrawal.
"The reopening of our detoxification program exemplifies our commitment to serving the community needs around substance use and further affords us the opportunity to continue providing holistic care," Jaclene Jason, the director of addiction services at the hospital, said in a statement.
The psychiatric hospital also treats adolescents, family members affected by substance abuse, and offers inpatient rehabilitation.
