ABERDEEN, MD — The mass vaccination site at Ripken Stadium is slated to close this week. Officials say the site will close Saturday, June 19. Until then, the Johnson & Johnson vaccine will be offered for those walking in or with appointments. The first dose of the Pfizer vaccine will no longer be offered at the stadium, the Harford County Health Department advised June 3, as the date of the closure approaches. The drive-through mass vaccination site at Ripken Stadium opened April 9. Ripken Stadium became one of nine mass vaccination sites in the state to offer no-registration vaccinations as of Tuesday, April 27, the governor's office reported. "I said our goal was to put ourselves out of business at these mass vaccination sites, and as one of the most vaccinated states in the country, we are now approaching that point," Gov. Larry Hogan said in a statement in early June. Those who have not yet been vaccinated and would like to find the two-dose COVID-19 vaccine can search using the state's vaccine locator tool. The Harford County Health Department plans to conduct vaccine clinics one or two days each week. To schedule an appointment, call 410-838-1500.
