Description
GREENWICH, CT — Police are investigating a larceny from a motor vehicle which occurred on the morning of June 12 in Pomerance Park.
According to police, the victim of the larceny was on the park property between 11:10 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. When she returned to her car, she noticed her wallet was missing from the front passenger area. Later, she received a fraud alert that one of her credit cards had been used to make purchases at a store in Stamford.
The woman's vehicle was left unlocked, according to Capt. Mark Zuccerella of the Greenwich Police Department, and she said she did not notice anyone in the area while she was at the park.
The case will likely be forwarded to the department's Detective Division.
"Lock it or lose it," Zuccerella said. "If you don't lock it, people are going to take it. If you do lock it, you've got to take your belongings out. You can't leave things in plain view... A lot of these larcenies from motor vehicles are preventable by locking the doors and keeping things out of sight."
