WESTFIELD, NJ — In celebration of Juneteenth, the MLK Association of Westfield will present a trolley tour of notable sites of African American History in town this Saturday. Pre-registration is required for the tours, which begin at 10 a.m., 12 p.m., and 2 p.m. They originate at the Presbyterian Church parking lot in Westfield. The fee is $10 and you can register at MLKWestfield.org. Juneteenth marks the date (June 19, 1865) when Union soldiers freed the last remaining slaves in Texas, enforcing the Emancipation Proclamation long after it was originally issued by President Abraham Lincoln on New Year's Day of 1863.
