DANBURY, CT — The Connecticut Police Chief's Association has named Danbury Police Chief Patrick Ridenhour its first Black president. Ridenhour was sworn in Thursday at the CPA Annual Meeting, and the organization made the announcement on social media over the weekend. Congratulations to Danbury Police Chief Patrick Ridenhour on becoming the First African American President of the Connecticut Police Chiefs Association (CPCA). Chief Ridenhour was officially sworn in at the 2021 CPCA Annual Meeting/Mini Expo on June 10, 2021.— CT Police Chiefs (@CT_PoliceChiefs) June 12, 2021 Ridenhour has previously served as the group's vice president. He has been chief in Danbury since 2016, and served as chief in Stratford before that. The Connecticut Police Chiefs Association is an organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of the residents of the state, aiding other government bodies within and external to Connecticut in the administration of justice, and ensuring that all are treated equally before the law, according to the group's website.
