Batt + Lear is a family-run Seattle business that has been dedicated to designing and building sustainably since 1999. We build and remodel structures to be highly energy-efficient, simple, and functional. And we’re looking to add another leader to this passionate and skilled team. Responsibilities Well-versed in reading and understanding architectural and engineering drawings. Able to use the drawings to line out a crew and subcontractors. Use sketching skills to communicate with the in-house design team. Management of crew and subcontractors. Performing job site take-offs. Material acquisition - research and purchasing. Maintain, monitor, and enforce jobsite health and safety. Working with an offsite Project Manager to coordinate internal resources and subcontractors to ensure projects to be finished on time and on budget. Ensure construction quality meets Batt + Lear’s expectations. Working with the PM, manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques and CoConstruct, our project management software. Establish and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and all others on site. Support the creation and maintenance of comprehensive project documentation. Records daily logs and deliverables to Project Manager weekly at a minimum. Requirements 5+ years of custom residential, new, and remodel construction experience, tenant improvement. Education equivalency accepted into cumulative total. 2+ years of site leadership and management experience. Comprehensive understanding of sustainable design and high-performance construction processes. Have a strong sense of pride in excellent workmanship. Willing and able to work in the field. Proficient computer skills. Competence with the Google suite (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, etc.) Competence with the Microsoft Office or similar (Word, Excel, etc.) Experience using Project Management software to track project progress and communicate with clients, designers, suppliers, and crew. We use CoConstruct. Have a clean and valid driver’s license. Technical background with understanding and hands-on experience in construction and building science. Excellent management and internal communication skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills. Conducts all project completion documentation as required. Compensation: $30-$38 per hour DOE. Self-educating, researching innovative building materials and techniques. Has work vehicle (example: a truck or van with a rack to carry building materials and equipment). Expertise/Competence using CoConstruct or similar, cloud-based construction project management software. Job Type: Full Time.
