Hello. My name is Joe, and I'm a drummer/percussionist who is relatively new to Asheville. I play pandeiro, and in addition to playing traditional Brazilian music (samba, bossa nova, choro), I also use the pandeiro as a drum set substitute for rock, pop, funk, etc... I have a nice mic for the drum so it can always be amplified to fit whatever need. Would work well for a sing-songwriter who wants some percussion accompaniment without a full drum set or even for a full band. I have some examples of what I can do with the drum in the videos below. I have been playing a long time and am comfortable sitting in on a gig with little to no rehearsal. Let me know if you're interested in getting together to play and/or chat.
