Joseph Davila, 38, of Chicago, was arrested about 4:30 p.m. June 6 at 47th Street and Leitch Avenue on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, no valid driver's license, operation of an uninsured vehicle, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and damage to village property. He was arrested after police responded to a single-car accident.An Air Force flag was stolen overnight June 5 in the 1100 block of South Spring Avenue. A child's black and gray Schwinn hybrid bicycle was stolen June 6 from the bike rack near Cossitt Elementary School. The locked bike was valued at $500.A child's silver Evo bicycle was stolen June 6 at Cossitt and Ashland avenues. The locked bike was valued at $500.A child's black and blue GT bicycle was stolen June 6 at La Grange Public Library, 10 W. Cossitt Ave. It was valued at $350.A resident in the 1000 block of Eighth Avenue received a text message Tuesday claiming to be from the state Department of Transportation asking to validate the victim's information for a state driver's license waiver. A male put several items in a black backpack and left without paying for them about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Walgreens, 2 N. La Grange Road. Two females stole several cosmetic items about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Walgreens, 2 N. La Grange Road. Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
