MANHATTAN BEACH, CA —It's heating up out there, a great time to hit the waves. Here's an update on surf conditions from Surfline via the South Bay Dawn Patrol.
There will be a "mix of primary, short-period NW swell and secondary, long-period SSW swell this morning,' as the tide ebbs out to a 7:15 a.m. with a low of -0.3.' Winds are calm to light/variable, according to Surfline.
While waves will be running thigh to waist high, top combo breaks in the north half of the bay are a little better. An incoming tide push will help by mid-morning.
For the rest of the day, the swell combo slowly edges up for a gradual rise in surf size. Westerly winds will be in the 7-11 kt range and will ruffle conditions most of the afternoon.
Onshore winds will be due to ease in the evening. The tide will top out at a gentle 3.3' high at 2:35 p.m., then will dip to a 2.9' low at 6:05 p.m.
