BEVERLY HILLS, CA — The Beverly Hills School Board voted Tuesday to pass a resolution in support of the LGBTQ community, and to display a Progress Pride flag at every school and facility in the district every June. The Progress Pride flag, designed in 2018, combines the traditional rainbow flag with blue, pink, and white stripes from the Transgender Pride Flag, and black and brown stripes to represent LGBTQ communities of color.
"It is the policy of Beverly Hills Unified School District Board of Education that all persons, including those who are lesibian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer, have an equal and nondiscriminatory opportunity to a quality public education experience," the resolution reads. "Beverly Hills Unified School District Board of Education values and welcomes the diversity of our student body, our teachers, our staff, and administrators, including the diversity of sexual orientation and identity in our community."
