MOORESVILLE, NC — Josh's Farmer's Market is back in operation, and has reopened at a new open-air site at Lowe's YMCA in Mooresville. The market location at 170 Knox Avenue is a behind the YMCA's main building, and is expected to remain in place for the coming year. "This is a temporary location until we can move to our permanent 4.5 acre-site just a mile south at the intersection of Williamson and Sundown Roads, hopefully by spring 2022," market owner Josh Graham said in a statement. "We're really excited to be at the Y in the interim. Parking and access are much easier, and we've doubled our space so we can represent and promote more vendors than ever before." Access to fresh locally grown produce is also a benefit for YMCA patrons, said executive director Ashley Morgan. "Our partnership with Josh's Farmers Market creates a unique opportunity to expose our members to an assortment of locally-grown produce, homemade goodies, and many other great things as well as allows Josh's customers to learn that the Y empowers everyone, no matter who they are or where they're from, by ensuring access to resources, relationships and opportunities," Morgan said. In addition to produce, Josh's Farmer's Market sells Amish-built gliders, swings, rockers and picnic tables, homemade pizza, grass-fed beef, elderberry syrup, pimento cheese, ice cream, sauces and jellies, honey, baked goods, pottery, soap, as well as potted and fresh flowers. The market also sells fresh in-season seafood caught off the Carolina coast every Friday through Sunday. Josh's Farmer's Market is open Monday through Thursday, from 9:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. More information about the market may be found here.
