Press release from Albany Unified School District: June 4, 2021 Dear Albany Community, "It's been a school year full of challenges that is now coming to a close. I congratulate all of our students for the incredible resilience they have shown, learning and progressing under the stress of a pandemic. The Class of 2021 has my sincere congratulations and best wishes for a bright future! Teachers and staff also deserve acknowledgement for keeping learning alive in new ways and our school sites healthy and safe. We celebrate the end of the school year in a couple of different ways. One is the annual AUSD Newsletter, which is a printed piece that comes to your home mailbox. This newsletter summarizes some of the most important news from the district. Please look for it in your mailbox next Thursday or Friday and enjoy short and important stories! A few highlights include: The Grand Reopening/Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the new Ocean View Elementary School will be held on August 14. Awards received by Albany Middle School and the Albany High School Addition. Marin Elementary will be under construction shortly. All schools are scheduled to return to full in-person instruction in August. A remarkable student runner from AHS with a jaw-dropping time! The traditional way we celebrate the end of the school year is with promotion ceremonies at school transition grades (5th & 8th grades) and a commencement ceremony for our graduating seniors.
