Under the supervision of the Aztec Recreation Facilities Manager, the Building Services Engineer performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance and repair tasks for Aztec Recreation facilities and equipment including, but not limited to: HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, lighting, bowling alley machinery, building modifications, commercial fitness equipment, laundry equipment and general preventative maintenance of buildings and equipment as assigned. The position collaborates with team of full-times engineers and assists with supervising part-time building services staff and must demonstrate the ability to work effectively with a diverse campus population. A large scale expansion and renovation of the Aztec Recreation Center began in 2019. The 78,000 sq/ft facility will be expanded by approximately 70,000 sq/ft. The project is budgeted and planned for LEED Double Platinum Certification. The Aztec Recreation Building Services Engineer will support facility systems to help ensure continuous operation of Aztec Recreation Center spaces throughout the construction project. The expansion portion of the Aztec Recreation Center is slated to be complete fall of 2021 with full project completion in spring of 2022. During construction, the Building Services Engineer will have the opportunity to become familiar with and understand all new building engineering systems, manuals and blueprints and complete required manufacturer’s training, LEED certifications and/or A.S. required certifications (if applicable).
