This is a 40 hours per week (Mon-Fri 7am-3pm). Some flexibility with hours needed. This position requires travel throughout Long Island (mostly Nassau, but may involve some Queens and Suffolk locations) using your own vehicle (you will be reimbursed for mileage). The hourly pay rate for this position will be based on past experience, degree and certifications plus benefits after 90 days. High School Diploma and valid New York State driver's License is mandatory. Three years experience in general maintenance and repair as well as the ability to work independently. Good communication skills and written skills a plus. Must have ability to perform snow removal and landscaping tasks as needed and assigned, including providing on-call support during storms or other emergencies Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent plus Trade Certifications (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) preferred Ability to troubleshoot/repair basic plumbing and electrical issues Overall knowledge and ability to utilize basic hand tools a must Three years’ experience in general maintenance and repair Strong appliance diagnostics/repair background Ability to work independently Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Valid driver’s license and vehicle in good working order RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Ensure assigned homes meet agency standards for safety. Complete all work assignments in an efficient manner. perform snow removal and landscaping tasks as needed and assigned, including providing on-call support during storms or other emergencies Correct any identified maintenance needs. Purchase and store necessary equipment and supplies. Submit receipts of all purchases made on a weekly basis. Establish systems to ensure for ongoing routine maintenance. Scheduling flexibility as needed. Attendance at weekly scheduled maintenance meetings. Drive agency vehicle when needed and demonstrate safe driving practices.
