Drummer and Guitar/Synth Player Wanted! @CladUndergrad
Meets
Portland OR
Description
Clad Undergrad Portland, OR Genres: Alt Rock, Indie Rock, (Post)-Punk, Surf We're a group here in Portland in search of a couple musicians! We've been around since November or so of 2019 and have had a couple different lineups, but currently, we're a guitarist / vocalist and bassist looking to fill out our group now that shows are on the horizon. For reference, the end of this listing has a link to our Spotify and to one of our live performances. Here are some position specific preferences: Drummer: - Chops are good, but keeping the rhythm at tempo and the feel interesting are really the most important parts for us. - We don't have anything too crazy, but dynamic shifts and some style variations are important. - You're more than welcome to bring any snares, cymbals, or hardware that you like, but we have a Ludwig Classic Maple that we'd like to keep in the room. We can definitely discuss this later down the line if you'd prefer your own, though. Guitarist / Synth Player: - For guitarists, we'd prefer somebody comfortable with both rhythm and lead styles, but if you specialize in one we can certainly accommodate. - For synth players, this is a great opportunity to experiment. We'd love something structural and ambient with the flexibility to fill the room, or something versatile and interesting that can shine as a lead. - Comfortability in standard scales and time signatures is important. We don't write out our scores, but this will make it a lot easier for us to get y'all up to date. In both positions we're looking for people who can keep up, but a high level of technical proficiency isn't a huge necessity, it's much more important to us to have a fun, cohesive group. In either case, we'd love the capacity for background vocals and experience in the studio / on the stage. If you have a passion for or an interest in production, we'd love to include you in that area too. Typically, we meet on Tuesday evenings from as early as 6pm to as late as 10pm, and one other day a week as available. We'd love to have a steady 2 day a week schedule once the dust settles. We enjoy weed and alcohol during practice, so please mention if sobriety is a tough subject or a necessity for you! We're practicing at a Puddletown unit in the NW Industrial area; each month we pay an even share of $405. Once we establish some trust and get y'all in rotation, we'd ask that you contribute as well. If you're facing a financial hardship, we can definitely discuss a prorated rent ("from each according to their ability, to each according to their needs" type thing). Either way, you're welcome to use the unit to store your equipment and practice whenever you need. If you feel like you'd be a good fit for either of these roles, please reach out and say hey! If you have Spotify links, live vids, anything like that, we'd love to check out your work! Please include a short description of yourself and style along with a few of your favorite artists! We'll reach out as we hear back and will schedule some auditions once we have an idea of interest. https://artists.spotify.com/c/artist/7yvD2Y2vt66zrm92VgUWKo/home https://www.reverbnation.com/artist/video/16722881 **** We consider this an inclusive space and are more than happy to accommodate you if you need anything specific from us! **** Please have a Covid vaccine! In addition to it saving lives and bringing us closer to playing music in our communities, it is currently a requirement with most booking agents so it will save us a month+ later down the road.
