Hello again!
Just can't seem to quit Craigslist. Also, before you get too deep into reading this, this is not a cover band situation.
I'm currently piecing together a band that's morphing into sounding like a mixture of a late 90s PNW indie band, classic 80s post-punk stuff and some later 2010s stuff. Maybe add a little shoegaze in the mix. It's hard to explain but I personally feel like it kind of sounds like:
The Hot Rock - Sleater Kinney
Primary Colours - The Horrors
Visiter - The Dodos
Script of the Bridge - The Chameleons
Treasure - Cocteau Twins
The current break down is 1 clean guitar with some reverb and delay, 1 clean bass VI (not a six string bass, look it up if you don't know what it is) with some reverb and delay and drums. We would like to have a singer if at all possible. Looking for someone who wouldn't mind using some atmospheric effects like reverb and delay (do you see the pattern yet?).
I have a practice space and all gear necessary.
What we are looking for:
-no gender requirements, male, female, trans, LGBTQ+ is perfectly fine with us
-no age requirements, please be old enough to consistently show up to practice on time and but not too old where "everything was better back in the day" and "why can't I get paid for all these tiny shows we play?"
-someone who wants to embody a front person but also isn't a dick and starts drama and also starts to control the entirety of the band; we work collectively, not singularly.
You can be someone who has done this for 20 years or who has never been in a band before. Just hopefully be someone who can memorize song structure and can perform the things you have rehearsed.
If you are in the zone of more DIY music and interested in the possibility of touring and making vinyl records, hit me up! Please be from the area close to Reading. I don't need people emailing me from Scranton talking about how this sounds cool only to realize that literally no one is going to make a 4 hour round trip for a weekly practice. Thanks!
