Responsibilities for the MNA include: The Medication Aide will administer/assist with approved medication under the supervision of a nurse and may also serve as Lead Resident Care Assistant. You will build relationships with residents and their families and be expected to display an eager willingness to provide care and support for our residents as needed. Communication/Compliance/Safety Communicates questions, concerns, and/or discrepancies related to medication administration/assistance to Resident Care Director/Resident Care Nurse (RCD/RCN). Communicates any significant change of mental or physical status of resident to RCD/RCN. Documents administration/assistance on Medication Observation Record (MOR). Documents/ notifies RCD/RCN of administration/assistance of PRN meds Responsible for documentation on PRN meds and affect, as allowed per state regulations. Resident Care • Able to properly and safely set up and administer/assist with medications as allowed by State Regulations. Able to properly chart medications administered/ assisted and immediately report to the nurse those medications not administered/ assisted for any reason. Answers emergency calls and attends to residents’ needs promptly Responsible for maintaining adequate supply of meds (ordering and reordering) Responsible for documentation of med administration/ assistance on MOR Responsible for administering/ assisting with medications as allowed by state regulations. May supervise resident who is self-administering injectable medications Job Requirements Graduate of state approved training course in medication administration (per state requirements) Current NH state certification as a MNA / Medication Nursing Assistant (as required by state regulation) and ability to complete CPR certification within 6 months Previous experience working with the elderly in a paid or volunteer position highly desirable Experience with memory impairment or dementia, highly desirable Ability to pass state/federal criminal background check and BEAS Medication Aide (MNA)
