**COMPETITIVE UNION WAGES** Candidate will work with a construction crew on various projects from; mass earthwork excavation to installing Water mains, Storm, and Sanitary Sewers, and concrete site prep. *Required experience with site grading, earthwork, site preparation, and underground utility installation. Knowledge of trench safety and OSHA guidelines are a must. Severino Construction offers competitive pay, contribution to health benefits. Major Duties Include: - Cleans and prepares construction sites to eliminate possible hazards. - Reads and interprets plans, instructions, and specifications to determine work activities. - Controls traffic passing near, in, and around work zones. - Signals equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials. - Digs ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, and rakes. - Positions, joins, aligns, and seals structural components, such as concrete wall sections and pipes. - Measures, marks, and records openings and distances to lay out areas where construction work will be performed. - Unloads, and identifies building materials, machinery, and tools, and distributes them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications. - Erects and disassembles scaffolding, shoring braces, traffic barricades, ramps, and other temporary structures. - Maintain initiative to preserve the flow of work. - Work under stress and with commitment to deadlines. - Complete projects and/or reports in accurate and timely manner
