As a member of our interpreting support staff during Early Voting and Election Day, you will assist limited English-speaking voters by answering their questions, clarifying voting information and instructions, verbally translating the English ballot, and interpreting between poll workers and voters if necessary. Additional duties will include site set-up/break-down and administrative work.
This is an exciting opportunity and you will be earning $20 per hour and allows you to give back to your community in a civic setting and to develop your professional resume. All participants will be added to our supplier database and may receive future work as interpreting skills are developed.
About the opportunity:
Support your local community on Tuesday June 22nd. You will need to attend the Poll Site from 5 am till 10 pm.
As an interpreter on Election Day your role will include providing language services, such as answering questions outside the poll site room and assisting Limited English Proficient (LEP) voters.
You need to:
• Be legally authorized to work in the US.
• Have excellent communication skills.
• Be available for the full duration on Early Voting days and Election Day (5:00am-10:00pm)
• Be able to help set up and break down the site
• Be able to help with administrative tasks
• Be required to undergo training
• Understand that this is a nonpartisan role
