The event leaders from Columbus Gives Back will be there to meet you. We will be with other volunteers from Friends of Goodale Park. COVID-19 Precautions: In an effort to keep our volunteers, event leaders, and non-profit partners safe , all Columbus Gives Back volunteers are required to wear face masks and observe social distancing as appropriate to complete volunteer tasks. Volunteers who are sick, especially with fever or the growing number of Covid-19 symptoms, should stay home. We highly recommend that our volunteers wash their hands, use hand sanitizer at the beginning and end of the event, and/or wear gloves. We will follow whatever safety policy our nonprofit partners have in addition to the safety precautions listed above. Any volunteers determined to neglect these precautions and put other volunteers or the people we serve at risk will be dismissed from the event. If you were exposed before or test positive after having participated in a CGB event, please contact the event leader or reach out to [email protected] so that we can best support contact tracing efforts. About Friends of Goodale Park: The Friends of Goodale Park formed in 1987 in realization that the surrounding community needed to take greater responsibility to nurture and support Goodale Park. A devastating summer storm had destroyed many of the park’s older trees so the Friends raised funds to purchase over 300 trees. In subsequent years, the Friends have undertaken many projects to restore, improve and maintain this gem of an urban park. Lighting, benches and trash receptacles have been added; a gazebo and expanded shelter house have been constructed; sidewalks and playgrounds have been updated, and more trees have been planted.   About Columbus Gives Back: Columbus Gives Back coordinates group volunteer events with local non-profits, organizes philanthropic happy hours to raise support and awareness for our non-profit partners, and participates in other philanthropic events while emphasizing our social twist: to have fun with volunteers new and old during and after events in the hopes of creating a culture of community engagement amongst our target audience of young professionals. #SocialTwist: We have begun re-introducing social twists, where we invite volunteers to hang out with us after an event to have fun doing something local! As of May 1st, outdoor/patio social twists will be coordinated at the discretion of event leaders and volunteers. If you have questions or concerns, please contact your event leader or [email protected]. Columbus Gives Back- Service with a Social Twist!www.columbusgivesback.org
