What is Juneteenth?
On June 19th, 1865 in Galveston, Texas the remaining enslaved African Americans were informed that their freedom was a reality. 156 years later, this date is honored as a transitional point in American history that created space for African Americans to rise beyond the conditions placed on us. Juneteenth is a celebratory day that promotes black culture and community. It is a time to extend your hand to your neighbor and offer support vs competition. It is a space to exist freely as an ADOS ( American Descent of Slavery ) and rewrite the narrative.
Why Meditate?
Meditation is a tool to still the body and mind. It is a way to listen to your innermost being and relax from external stimulation. Meditation is needed more than ever as a tool in strategizing for the ADOS community. How can we build if we are constantly distracted? Using meditation along with keeping an intentional focus is the first step in our liberation. A consistent meditation practice will reduce stress, boost emotional confidence, concentration.
What is Sound healing / Sound Bath?
Similar to meditation, sound healing is the use of vibrational frequencies to uplift your mood and clear energetic blockages. Sound healing is an ancient practice that dates back 40,000+ years and is a healing modality that requires you to show up as you are to restore balance in your body.
