This year we will be having our 1st Annual Charity Dinner & 3rd Annual Toy Drive at the Killeen Arts & Activities Center. Welcome at 5:00 p.m. Dinner at 5:30 p.m. Keynote speaker TBA Performance TBA Open Bar Dancing This year we will be having our 1st Annual Charity Dinner & 3rd Annual Toy Drive at the Killeen Arts & Activities Center on November 13th, 2021 from 5 pm to 9 pm. Each year since 2018 we held a toy drive and donated the toys to Toys 4 Tots. Last year instead of a toy drive we sponsored a family who experienced child loss to help with anything they needed financially for the holiday season. Due to Covid, did not help as many families as we wanted due to a lack of funds.The overall mission for The Cairo Brown Foundation is to raise awareness about Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC). The foundation is looking to advance into providing peer counseling and grief support groups focused on child loss. We do want to serve all who have experienced the loss of a loved one. The Cairo Brown Foundation serves the Greater Killeen area and nearby communities in Central Texas. This year's mission is to raise more awareness, funds for the nonprofit to provide services throughout the community, and for a physical location to support families. What is Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC)? SUDC effects children between the ages of 1 to 18 years old. These children are angels even after a thorough investigation, including an autopsy the death remains unexplained. It is the 5th leading cause of death in children aged 1-4 years in the United States. Usually, the child is found asleep in the prone position.
